Important Mercy Parklands Updates:

Our Volunteers

Volunteers are a valuable part of our Mercy Parklands team, contributing 300+ volunteer hours each month. They are appreciated by both staff and residents.

There are a range of volunteering options from companionship (making a cup of tea and having a chat), to helping with activities or tasks, reading to residents or walking with residents. We know that many firm friendships and bonds are created, contributing to a more rewarding life for both residents and volunteers.

Compassionate Companions Volunteers

A compassionate companion volunteer in the No One Dies Alone programme plays an important role at Mercy Parklands. While the programme doesn’t involve nursing experience, it requires a special volunteer to be with residents who have no one with them at the end of life. You must possess warmth, empathy and the sincere desire to be a presence for dying residents who may be without family or friends.
